Trish McConnell has worked in tribunals for over thirty years. She is currently the chair of the NZ Private Security Personnel Licensing Authority and the Licensing Authority of Secondhand Dealers and Pawnbrokers. Both authorities have the dual functions of a professional registration board and a disciplinary tribunal. Trish was previously chair of the Weathertight Homes Tribunal and the Tenancy Tribunal. Trish is also the current chair of Tribunals Aotearoa / NZ Chapter of COAT.

Before working full time in Tribunal roles Trish worked as a barrister specialising in alternative disputes resolution and prior to that as a lawyer, both in private legal practice and with Community Law Centres. Trish has also worked as a lawyer and aid worker in the Philippines and has undertaken other legal project work in Asia.
