Member, Mental Health Review Tribunal (NSW)

Christine Fougere has been a tribunal member in NSW for many years primarily in the areas of guardianship and mental health. She has been a Principal Member of the Guardianship Division of the NSW Civil and Administrative Tribunal and was a Deputy President of the former Guardianship Tribunal.  Christine has experience in the area of human rights and federal discrimination law having worked for a number of years with the Australian Human Rights Commission, including as the Deputy Director of Legal Services. Prior to this Christine worked as a litigation solicitor in London and Perth and has also taught in the area of discrimination law at the University of Western Sydney. Christine is currently a Lawyer Member of the NSW Mental Health Review Tribunal, a Senior Member of the Tasmanian Civil and Administrative Tribunal, a Board member of the Intellectual Disability Rights Service and the Vice Convenor of the NSW Chapter of the Council of Australasian Tribunals.
