AeRO Forum – eResearch Workforce

This workshop brings together eResearch leaders and representatives from AeRO member organisations, institutions, NCRIS capabilities, discipline communities, funding bodies, government and other agencies.

The agenda will be developed through consultation with registered participants in the weeks leading up to the conference and may include any/all of the following:

  • Lightning talks from participants highlighting challenges/opportunities followed by discussion
  • Discussion of NRDC / eResearch funding announcements in the federal budget
  • Finalise the 2018 Australasian eResearch Workforce Survey design/questions
  • Start planning a coordinated approach to research infrastructure for the ‘typical researcher’
  • Discuss opportunities for a Study Tour program / micro-secondments
  • Work to define eResearch Roles for proposed inclusion in the Skills Framework for the Information Age
  • Discussion around community awareness and support for science and technology, sector and skills development, collaboration and partnerships, forging global connections
  • Explore specific topics including “The Future of eResearch Work” – what are skills/capability requirements for the eResearch workforce and researchers they support
ABOUT COAT

The COAT is intended to facilitate liaison and discussion between the heads of tribunals. It will support the development of best practice models and model procedural rules, standards of behaviour and conduct for members and increased capacity for training and support for members.
