1Executive Director of the Australian Data Science Education Institute
Overview
Presented by Dr Linda McIver, Executive Director of the Australian Data Science Education Institute, this workshop is a hands on exploration of integrating STEM into education by using real Data Science projects across all curriculum areas. Participants will gain an understanding of what Data Science is and how it is relevant to all areas of the Victorian Curriculum. You will have the opportunity to conduct a guided search for datasets specific to your own subjects, and the second half of the workshop will be a chance to build a project or set of lesson plans to use the data in your classroom, with guidance from Dr McIver and workshop facilitators. There will also be opportunities to attend presentations at the conference, to see some real life applications of Data Science. This workshop is suitable for teachers at all levels and all curriculum areas.
